They’re working towards that dream this Summer. Over the last several months leaders developed a program for youth in their neighborhood to provide a safe, fun environment for families in the community.
On August 2, in the courtyard at Dolores Mission Catholic Church, leaders, Council Member Jose Huizar, and Miguel Leon of the Mayor’s Gang Reduction and Youth Prevention program attended the first day of the program.
LA Voice families in Dolores Mission were awarded funding through the office of Jose Huizar to support the “Safe Youth-Fun Summer” Program, which will serve hundreds of families in the neighborhood.
They celebrated the first step in their comprehensive approach to violence prevention in their community.
